The Faroe Islands September 2019
2019
A long awaited visit to the Faroe Islands with camera and drone was a delight. It’s a unspoilt group of islands in the North Atlantic which has managed to retain some very traditional and historic buildings. The weather is challenging and unpredictable. The scenery is breathtaking. The people are friendly, the roads are excellent and travelling between the islands is easy. Even the ferry’s are on time and clean. I will be returning next year 2020 to finish off what I started.

Iceland's Hidden Gems
2018
The real way to see this fascinating country is to hire a car which gives you the freedom to get around at your own pace and time. Some of the places I visited are off the tourist trail which I found much more rewarding. Working with a bag full of equipment and tripod requires concentration and patients. There’s nothing worse than spending a load of time setting up your camera only to be invaded by a bunch of tourists who aren’t interested in staying out of the shot. That aside, there’s plenty of room in this country to get the shots you want and be apart of the tourist trade. I spent 8 days traveling around the West side of the country, visiting points of interest which I researched on YouTube before arriving in Iceland. This was a good way of maximising my time and getting to where I needed to go. The results were rewarding (I hope you agree). I’ll let the images do the talking.

Mount Fuji At Dawn
2018
I stayed at the Fuji View Hotel in Kawachugi-ko. A traditional hotel dating back to 1935. The hotel sits between the mountain and Lake Kawaguchi-ko. This shot was taken in the grounds of the hotel. The remaining photographs represent the beauty and diversity of Japanese architecture and tradition. I've taken the opportunity to add my own creation of a unique design in Tokyo's Sky Tree Area.

San Francisco
2017
I felt the ease and laid back attitude of this beautiful city so easy to slip into. The architecture and the whole feel to the place is so unique to America's huge variety of iconic buildings and cultures. The buildings are well preserved, probably due to the clean air and climate. Although I never saw the famous fog during my stay, I managed to walk the length of the Golden Gate Bridge to the other side and spent an afternoon relaxing in the restaurants and bars in Sausalito.

Japan 2017
2017
My first trip to Japan. 10 days of pure joy and pleasure in a country that’s captured my imagination and reignited my desire to travel with my camera. Everything the Japanese do whether its a beautiful building or a tea cup follows simple rules of line and form. Simple lines and stunning colours form part of the presentation of the product. So much thought goes into pleasing the eye. Anyone visiting this Land of the Rising Sun cannot fail to notice its stunning geometry and attention to detail.

Some images I took in the Lake District and Scotland in 2015. Living in the "flat spot" of England, withers very limited natural lakes and no mountains, I find myself drawn to the coast of lakeside shores and mountains of the north of the UK.

Black and White Images
2015
Black and White images produce drama and impact. For instance, the Bow of the boat was part of a larger image, which, was too busy and had no real focal point or interest. To get to the finished article I cropped the bow section and converted it to black and white and brought the grain of the hull out to enhance the V which makes the subject more interesting. The Box Of Chains was part of the original shot and again I separated it to produce an image of interest with a little work on the colour cast in Lightroom.

A Day By The Seaside
2015
I visited the Norfolk and Suffolk coast in July 2015 and recorded some interesting images. I was interested to see how a subject's impact (The rowing boat carcass) can be dramatically changed by converting to Black and White. I liked the idea of using long exposures on the waves, with the fixed objects providing the point of interest.
